How Does This UK Team Compare to Other Recent Teams?

Here is some interesting data for UK's last few good teams. "Offensive Efficiency" is a measure of how many points you score per 100 possessions; "Defensive Efficiency" is a measure of how many points you ive up :

Year Record Offensive Efficiency Defensive Efficiency Ken Pom Rank
2003 31-4 117.5 (5th in nation) 85.3 (4th) 2
2004 27-5 115.2 (19th) 87.5 (9th) 9
2005 28-6 114.6 (24th) 86.5 (3d) 10
2010 35-3 116.1 (15th) 86.3 (6th) 3
2011 29-9 118.1 (7th) 90.4 (15th) 6
2012 32-2 121.2 (2d) 87.0 (6th) 1

This shows what we know -- this is UK's best chance to win it all since the 1990's, mainly because our offense is so efficient. In fact, based on numbers alone, we have the best chance of anyone to win it. We will hope that, for this year at least, Pomeroy's analysis is correct.

By the way, after today's game Ken Pom says that Vandy is the 16th best team in the country.
