Farewell to the Hilltoppers

I am very sorry that the NCAA paired UK and Western Kentucky in the first round of the tournament. We at the Heath Post were saddened by Western's poor start to the season, were happy when Ray Harper finally got the chance at his dream job, and were ecstatic at the Toppers' late-season run through the Sun Belt and into the NCAA Tournament. Harper is clearly the man for one of the best jobs in college basketball, and he should have a very strong team coming back next year. There will be some sadness among the Western fans after tonight's loss, but on the whole I think they enter this off-season in the highest spirits I can remember.

Western Kentucky becomes the third of Kentucky's six Division I teams to be eliminated from this year's NCAA competition. The three remaining Kentucky squads have all advanced to the round of 32.
