Champions' League Update

The European Champions' League -- the most prestigious soccer club competition in the world -- wrapped up its round of 16 last week, and we are still on track for the title to be decided between Real Madrid and Barcelona. Here were the results (scores are an aggregate of two matches):

Lyon (FRA) 1 - 1 APOEL (CYP) (APOEL won 4-3 on penalty kicks)
Napoli (ITA) 4 - 5 Chelsea (ENG)
Milan (ITA) 4 - 3 Arsenal (ENG)
Basel (SUI) 1 - 7 Bayern Munich (GER)
Bayer Leverkusen (GER) 2 - 10 Barcelona (ESP) (Barca won 3-1 and 7-1)
CSKA Moscow (RUS) 2 - 5 Real Madrid (ESP)
Zenit St. Petersburg (RUS) 3 - 4 Benfica (POR)
Marseille (FRA) 2 - 2 Internazionale (ITA) (Marseille advanced on away goals)

Here are the match-ups for the quarter-finals, which will be played over two legs in late March and early April:

APOEL (CYP) v. Real Madrid (ESP) (No team from Cyprus has ever gotten this far)
Marseille (FRA) v. Bayern Munich (GER)
Benfica (POR) v. Chelsea (ENG)
Milan (ITA) v. Barcelona (ESP)
