The Carolina Way

This video of Tyler Zeller throwing himself to the floor in an effort to persuade the officials to call a foul on Anthony Davis is a great example of the fundamental difference between UK and UNC. It's almost impossible to imagine a Kentucky player doing this, or UK fans thinking it was clever. On the other hand, this is simply how Carolina rolls.

Imagine a grown man, a legend in his profession, teaching some of the world's greatest athletes to throw themselves on the floor in an effort to persuade an official to call a foul that shouldn't be called.

Imagine being proud of that man and that team.

That's what it's like to root for UNC.

  1. It's never the wrong time to tell the truth about Carolina.

  2. Plus, I'm only saying very nice things about the Hoosiers this week. For example, I think they have really, really great uniforms. And I like the red-and-white warm-up pants.

  3. I also really like that map of Indiana on their home floor. I think we should have a Kentucky map on the floor at Rupp.

  4. One of my all time favorite UK players was Deron Feldhaus and he could draw a charge like no one I have ever seen play the game. Even he at times flopped and so I feel as though I can never say anything negative about how anyone else chooses to play or coach their players to play when it comes to flopping.

  5. And you see what happened in the end -- Feldhaus was one of the people guarding Christian Laettner.

If I were in charge of the NCAA, flopping would lead to a technical foul. Hand out a few technicals in November, and you'd be done with flopping for the rest of the year.
