Over the weekend, Manchester City drilled Everton 3-0, while Manchester United was held to a 3-3 tie at Chelsea, so City has opened a two-point lead against their crosstown rivals. Meanwhile, Arsenal's chances of returning to the Champions' League next year are looking very tenuous:
1. Man City: 18-3-3 (57 points)
2. Man Utd: 17-3-4 (55 points)
3. Spurs: 15-4-4 (49 points)
4. Chelsea: 12-5-7 (43 points)
5. Newcastle: 12-6-6 (42 points)
6. Arsenal: 12-8-4 (40 points)
7. Liverpoool: 10-5-8 (38 points)
Meanwhile, in Scotland, Celtic and Rangers are in their usual horse race. Rangers is going for their fourth title in a row, but Celtic has the inside track for now:
1. Celtic: 19-3-2 (59 points)
2. Rangers: 18-3-4 (58 points)
3. Motherwell: 12-7-5 (41 points)
Good for Lawrence Tynes.
ReplyDeleteSpurs had a scoreless draw at Liverpool today. It was a good result for Spurs, and keeps them in a very solid third place. Liverpool, on the other hand, was unable to make up much ground and remains four points out of fourth place.
