Here's one that both our made-in-USA and KHSAA-hoops readers will enjoy. Among the new exhibitors at next month's Kentucky Crafted: The Market 2012 in Lexington will be East Bernstadt's Lonnie and Twyla Money, carver and, in turn, painter of wooden chickens and other farm animals. They've been sweethearts since their days at Hazel Green High School, which beat Ashland for the 1940 boys' basketball championship.
Rest in peace, Mr. Hampton, creator and sharer of Uncle Bummy's Sausage.
Can't wait to check out Mental Space.
ReplyDeleteIt's crazy to think that by closing the post office all they will save is less than $27,000 a year. When you look at the US Post Office budget woes that seems like such a small number.
ReplyDeleteThese post-office stories just break my heart. I love finding them, thinking about the place names and taking my mail to desks with little traffic. Also, in the sense that any budget decision is a values statement, it bothers me what we're saying about life in big cities vs. life in places like Lafayette. Other statements are being made, too, though.
