Back in 1974 Alice Cooper the band dissolved and Alice Cooper the artist went solo coming out in 1975 with his classic Welcome To My Nightmare. If you don't know anything about Alice Cooper the band they had made a name for themselves in part for their stage shows. When Alice Cooper the solo artist went off on his own he created a concept album which was then brought to full theatrical production on tour and thus launched Alice Cooper the artists career.
Over the past 36 years Cooper has continued to produce albums and tour them, but last year he went back to his roots, teaming up with the producer of his first solo album and coming up with a full blown sequel to Welcome To My Nightmare with Welcome 2 My Nightmare.
I'm not the biggest Alice Cooper fan and he's really more about the live show than he is the album, but my guess would be if you're sitting around nights listening to the first album in this series, you'll like the second one. It's a very solid follow up.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 1 out of 5 stars for Just OK.
I think it's interesting that you were generally complimentary of the album, but you still gave it only one star.
ReplyDeleteWell I think if you're a big Alice Cooper fan you'll be happy. I don't care much for Alice Cooper and so really can't go above 1 star.
