If you came of age in the 80's and were a fan of the alternative scene, then you can't help but enjoy this album. It opens with two solid tracks which are solid throwbacks to those days gone by and it's hard not to smile at how well that alternative sound holds up.
The album as a whole is not as sharp as those opening tracks and in fact it tends to ramble a bit as the album progresses, but it's still an enjoyable album for those of us who could imagine these songs in a John Hughes movie.
It's such a throwback sound I'm not sure how it would play with a more modern audience, though these guys are doing a good job of blending the current obsession with 50's pop and post punk.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
I would like to announce that I visited an Urban Outfitters today, and, having listened to the music in there for 45 (long) minutes or so, I can vaguely confirm the "post-punk" craze that I've been reading so much about in HP.
