Album Review: For True by Trombone Shorty

This is an interesting album. It's a blend of jazz, rock, R&B, and funk. It's a bit all over the place but for some reason that works OK because it's all rooted in a pretty consistent sound. The biggest problem with the album is that it feels emotionless. Musically the song are proficient, but they don't seem to have any soul. My guess would be if you saw Trombone Shorty performing live it would be an incredible experience, but there is a lack of passion on this album.

Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
