We Said It All Along, Minnesota,

but no one listens to us rednecks. Check out this angry column regarding Orlando Smith:

Tubby’s teams employ an ugly, disjointed, slow-paced style that fans and prospective recruits find equally unappealing. They can’t run a half-court offense, don’t play to their strengths and consistently seem to regress as the season progresses.

Gosh, where have I heard that before? But when Kentucky fans made similar arguments, the folks at ESPN responded like this.

The Minnesota folks thought they were being very clever by listening to Dick Vitale instead of us. But who looks clever now?

Oh, and by the way, Billy Gillispie's Texas Tech team lost at home to Kansas 81-46 last night. So take that, Mark Story. (Save this link. In the long history of terrible UK media coverage, Mark Story's article defending Gillispie -- literally weeks before UK announced Calipari as the new coach -- is the single dumbest piece ever written about Kentucky basketball. In fact, it may be the single dumbest article ever published in a major newspaper.)

  1. And so, of course, Minnesota goes to Bloomington tonight, catches the Hoosiers on a night where they make only 4-18 from three-point range and the Golden Gophers give the Hoosiers their first home loss of the year, 77-74.

That's the magic of Tubby. He really is a great coach -- a lot of the time. He's just not capable of building a big-time program.
