Oh, Kentucky
Love the live workday sports! Per the stream of Greenup's WLGC 105.7 FM, Heath trails Betsy Layne, 25-20, at halftime of this morning's Touchstone Energy All "A" Classic 2012 first-round boys' basketball game.
Meanwhile, with the Pirates in Frankfort, the Kentucky Historical Society sends us a postcard from Paducah.
Top Rock.
Good jobs news from Elizabethtown and Nicholasville.

36-28, Pirates, with about a minute to go in the third period ...
ReplyDeleteGreenup's WLGC is doing all of these games, which is very, very cool.
ReplyDeleteFrom Wikipedia: "On September 1, 1982 WLGC radio debuted at 105.5 FM, playing 'The City of New Orleans' by Arlo Guthrie. The song kicked off not only a new radio station, but also a new format: A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Rock. This hybrid programming was the brainchild of WLGC Vice-President/General Manager Robert Scheibly, who had commissioned a research project to determine viable formats for the fledgling station. Scheibly left the program director's position at WKEE/WHTN to take on the challenge of creating a new radio station focusing on local community needs."
Crazy game. Heath ran out to a 5-0 lead, then gave up a 16 unanswered Betsy Layne points. Now, at the end of three quarters, Heath leads, 36-30.
ReplyDelete"The City of New Orleans" sounds like the perfect song for that format.
ReplyDelete40-all, 3:03 to play ... Heath at the line ...
ReplyDeleteGood, miss ... 41-40, Pirates ...
ReplyDelete1:20 to go ... 45-44, Heath ...
ReplyDeleteHeath survives, 47-45!
ReplyDeleteLET'S GO BUCS!
ReplyDeleteIt'll be Heath vs. West Carter at 4 p.m. Central Friday in the quarterfinals.
ReplyDeleteHere were the Litkenhous Ratings for Heath and West Carter on Monday:
ReplyDeleteHeath: 64.2
West Carter: 72.9
Of course, Betsy Layne was 67.3, and we took care of them.
BECAUSE THE RATINGS CAN'T MEASURE OUR HEART!!!
West Carter, of Olive Hill, are maroon and white Comets.
