Murray State Wins Again

You can just feel the pressure of the unbeaten streak weighing on Murray State. Today the Racers hosted Jacksonville State -- a truly dreadful team -- and they were awful. All year, Murray's strength has been its shooting, but tonight the Racers went 2-11 from three-point range and they missed 11 of their 35 (!) free throws. At halftime, MSU led only 25-23. But nevertheless, Murray State held it all together and beat Jacksonville State 66-55. According to press accounts, the Murray fans started chanting "Undefeated!" with 40 seconds left. I wish I could have been there.

The Racers have now entered uncharted territory; this is the first Murray State team ever to have a record of 17-0. Next up, the Racers host Tennessee Tech on Saturday.
