Champions' League Update

Meanwhile, over in Europe, the greatest soccer clubs in the world have made it through the excruciating process of cutting dozens of eligible teams down to the Sweet 16 in the UEFA Champions' League -- the most prestigious club championship in the soccer world. For the first time in many years, only two English clubs made the cut, as both Manchester City and Manchester United were stunningly eliminated in the group stages. The Sweet 16 will start in mid-February. Here are the match-ups (and yes, one of the surviving teams is from Cyprus):

APOEL (CYP) v. Lyon (FRA)
Chelsea (ENG) v. Napoli (ITA)
Arsenal (ENG) v. A.C. Milan (ITA)
Bayern Munich (GER) v. Basel (SUI)
Barcelona (ESP) v. Bayer Leverkusen (GER)
Real Madrid (ESP) v. CSKA Moscow (RUS)
Benfica (POR) v. Zenit St. Petersburg (RUS)
Internazionale (ITA) v. Marseille (FRA)

To be honest, you probably don't need to pay attention until Barca plays Real Madrid.
