ReplyDeleteMy daughter's almost 3, and so we're just really getting rolling with this conversation this Christmas. Like everything else in life, it's taxing me.
ReplyDeleteWell, the whole situation at my house is more complicated than my initial response would lead one to believe. I never lied myself, but I also never seriously intruded on the message they got from the larger culture, and I did things consistent with the narrative in the larger culture. So they had the fun of believing and I didn't have to say anything that wasn't true.
