If you got into Feist a few years ago or into Aimee Mann in years past then I think you'll get into this album. Like those artists' best work the album grows on you with time because of its slightly off center approach to melodies.
It tends to lean to more electronic / dance and it works well. The more I listen to the album the more I like it.
Perhaps the most interesting thing about the album is that it comes from someone who is labeled as a Latin artist, because of her roots, but has no Latin sound to the album, except for one track in Spanish.
A good album for moving into the colder weather, the off kilter sound fits well with clunky weather and early darkness.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 3 out of 5 stars for Pretty Good.
This song is a delight, and the Twitter desk is now following Ximena Sarinana based on her strong review here.
