Album Review: Life at Best by Eli Young Band

I really don't think this can be considered country.  It reminds me more of 80's Tom Petty or some of those twangy college rock bands that popped up in the mid 80's.  The only trick is the Eli Young Band has steel guitar.

It's a bit long at 14 tracks, but there isn't a bad track in the bunch.  There are no real standout tracks in the bunch either and that's the biggest problem with the album.

If you want some easy going twangy pop then give it a listen.

Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.

  1. Sounds like country to me--pretty good country, too. This fellow can sing fine.

  2. This is by far the most country song on the album and their big single off the album.
