If the AP Pre-Season Poll is accurate, Kentucky fans are in for a lot of drama this season (SEC teams in bold):
1. N. Carolina
2. Kentucky
3. Ohio St.
4. Connecticut
5. Syracuse
6. Duke
7. Vanderbilt
8. Florida
9. Louisville
10. Pittsburgh
11. Memphis
12. Baylor
13. Kansas
14. Xavier
15. Wisconsin
16. Arizona
17. UCLA
18. Michigan
19. Alabama
20. Texas A&M
UK has an all-time record of 184-27 when it is ranked number 2 in the country. That record includes some great victories (the 1996 team was number 2 when it won the NCAA title) and some heart-breaking losses (UK was number 2 when it lost to Michigan in the 1993 Final Four, when it lost to UNC in the 1995 Elite Eight, and when it lost to West Virginia in the 2010 Elite Eight).
At this point, I have only one prediction to make: In the last AP poll before the NCAA tournament, both Florida and Louisville will be ranked higher than Vanderbilt.
it's still stunning to me that the 2010-11 wildcats went further than did the 2009-10 edition.
ReplyDeleteThat tournament is all about the three-point shot.
