It's been ten years since we got a new album from Yes. They have been through a lot of iterations over the years, but the obvious person missing from this album is lead singer Jon Anderson. Oddly he's been replaced by a guy who used to sing in a Yes tribute band and does sound strikingly like Anderson.
I'm not the biggest Yes fan, but I will say this is a good effort for a band that has been around in some form or another for over 40 years. If you like Yes I would definitely recommend the album. With Anderson missing from the fold it does feel as though the vocals took a bit of a back seat to the rest of the production, and Anderson has always added an important component to the Yes sound. Still musically it's solid and there is no one out there producing progressive music like this today except for these guys.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 1 out of 5 stars for Just OK.
hey, this is the story in one of my favorite movies of the last 15 years, "rock star."
