If you want simple pop this is the 2011 version of it. Simple pop to me has always been aimed squarely at adults rather than kids and this album is definitely light pop aimed squarely at adults.
Truth is it works. It's a solid set of 12 songs that never faulters and so if you are in the mood to throw some light pop on while you clean the house or look at pictures of your kids you're going to be pleased with this choice.
It's hard to create an album like this and so she deserves credit for what she's accomplished here. How hard is it to make light pop you ask? Well it's tough to put together 12 tracks that never gets bogged down and doesn't get redundant. In some ways it's like the Blake Shelton album I just reviewed. Sure Nashville has a formula, but the problem is that most people can't follow the formula well enough to put together a full album. It's the same for doing something like mainstream adult pop. The formula is there, the trick is being able to package it over twelve tracks and not lose your listener.
She's added a bit more country to her sound and it works very effectively and actually expands her sound a bit on this her third album.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
i think you're in a better mood since the sores on your feet and hands cleared up. that must've been awful.
