The 2011-2012 UK Schedule

Yes, it's almost basketball time. This year's schedule strikes me as unusually dramatic, even by the standards of UK basketball. There are some enormous games on the schedule, including a game against Kansas in New York, a home game with St. John's, a home game with North Carolina, an ESPN GameDay appearance in Nash-vegas, and the season finale at Florida. 1. One of the big discussions on the Joe B and Denny Show today is whether anyone from Garrard County has ever been recruited by UK. A guy who played at the county high school mentioned that he had played for a coach named Upchurch, and Joe B remembered that that coach's father had coached Jimmy Dan Connor--but that was at Anderson County.

  2. "Rugby Bob," an on-again, off-again caller, just phoned in with a World Cup update, by the way.

  3. Jump, jump, slam, slam ... but I'm very concerned about Terrence Jones's plans to shoot the 3.
