Last Night in Western Kentucky

Here are the scores from last night's football games (home team listed first):

Fort Campbell 68 - 26 Fort Knox
Fulton Co. 20 - 21 Heath (OT)
Graves Co. 21 - 22 Paducah Tilghman
Hopkinsville 7 - 62 Madisonville-North Hopkins
Lake Co. (Tenn.) 41 - 20 Reidland
Lone Oak 27 - 32 Christian Co.
Marshall Co. 35 - 7 Ballard Mem. (Marshall Co. Bowl)
Mayfield 35 - 7 Murray
S. Fulton (Tenn.) 42 - 6 Fulton City
Trigg Co. 14 - 6 Caldwell Co.
Union Co. 41 - 16 Crittenden Co.
Webster Co. 19 - 35 Calloway Co. (at Marshall Co.) (Marshall Co. Bowl)

High school football often features a lot of blowouts, but last night's games were fantastic. On paper, of course, the big game of the night was Murray putting its 29-game regular season winning streak on the line at Mayfield. In real life, of course, this was not an interesting matchup, because there was no chance Murray could give the Cardinals a game -- as the final score showed. But the Lone Oak-County matchup was great, the Trigg-Caldwell game was as hard-fought as expected, Tilghman pulled out an excellent win at Graves, and YOUR HEATH PIRATES GOT IT DONE IN OVERTIME to run their record to 2-2!
