It seems hard to believe that less than five months ago, after UK lost to UConn in the Final Four, I was feeling burned out on sports. After a long summer with almost nothing to watch except for a few golf tournaments, I am very excited that college football starts tonight. I will be particularly interested in the game in Nashville between Western Kentucky and Kentucky. It will be shown on the "U," and I will be interested to see how many folks from the Commonwealth make the big trip to Nashville. It's hard to imagine any other situation in which two teams from the same state would play a regular-season game in a different state, but to me Nashville has always felt like the biggest city in western Kentucky, so this location actually makes sense.
I've always thought of St. Louis as western Kentucky's city. Interesting.
ReplyDeleteBut I am glad the Hilltoppers are playing in Nashville, as opposed to Busch Stadium.
