The LLWS: A Noble Effort from North Oldham

Here's a shout-out to the Little Leaguers of North Oldham, who did a great job representing Kentucky. First, they won the Great Lakes Region, which includes teams from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin (nothing says "Great Lakes" like Kentucky).

Then, in Williamsport, they opened with a 1-0 win over Clinton County, Pennsylvania. They were then beaten 10-0 (in only 4 innings) by Huntington Beach, California, which knocked them into the losers' bracket. There, they had a tremendous battle against long-time power Warner-Robins, Georgia. Little League games normally last six innings, but North Oldham and Warner-Robins went 9 innings before Warner-Robins finally advanced with an 8-5 victory. So North Oldham has been eliminated. But they carried the flag very well.
