Well, I'm a bit late with this preview, because the English Premier League actually kicked off on August 13. But we haven't missed much. Here are my predictions for the new season:
League Champion: Manchester United
F.A. Cup Winner: Liverpool
Will the League title be in serious doubt on April 1? No
Top 4 Finishers to Qualify for the 2012-13 Champions' League: Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool
Teams to be Relegated: Swansea City, West Bromwich Albion, Wigan Athletic
Will an English team win the 2011-12 Champions' League? No
Number of English teams that will be eliminated from the 2011-12 Champions' League by Barcelona or Real Madrid? Two
I love the system of promotion and relegation. I think I'll make it a hallmark of the semi-professional basketball leagues that I encourage the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Kentucky to launch.
