There are two very popular setups in music right now. The first is a two person guy girl setup. Obviously this started with the White Stripes but it is a trend that has held. Second is a retro girl group sound. This trend exploded with the success of Amy Winehouse. Cults combines these two trends. Though it's not a bad album there is nothing new going on here and with such an over saturated market for this type of music right now you really have to do something to stand out.
Still its a fun and solid album and would be fun for a labor day picnic.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
It's terrific seeing the snow in this video. In fact, if you'd get rid of the whole captive-person drama and have just images of folks driving around interesting land- and skyscapes, I'd find this whole deal highly entertaining.
