Meanwhile, Seo is trying to run away from the field, while Cristie Kerr keeps having to save herself with some really good putting. Creamer has fallen back to three over, and she's probably out of it.
T1. H.K. Seo (KOR): -3 (61 holes)
T2. S.Y. Ryu (KOR): -2 (58)
T2. A. Stanford: -2 (57)
4. C. Kerr: -1 (58)
Blogger seems to be working better, so I will add to the comments as events warrant.
Hee-Kyung Seo is 25 years old, and she mainly plays in Korea (where she has won 11 tournaments). She has won one LPGA tournament, and she has never come close to winning an LPGA major.
ReplyDeleteSeo, who is 5' 7" tall, is known in Korea as the Supermodel of the Fairways.
ReplyDeleteSo Yeon Ryu, who is only 21 years old, also spends most of her time on the Korean tour. She has never won an LPGA event, and the NBC folks seem to be struggling to come up with good anecdotes about her.
ReplyDeleteSeo just rolled in a long birdie putt on 8 to go four under par. She has now made three birdies in a row, and she is four under for her final round.
ReplyDeleteCreamer just double-bogeyed the fourth hole to fall to five over par, nine shots off the lead.
ReplyDeleteLeaders as of 2:30 MDT:
ReplyDelete1. H.K. Seo (KOR): -4 (62 holes)
T2. A. Stanford: -2 (58)
T2. S.Y. Ryu (KOR): -2 (58)
4. C. Kerr: -1 (58)
T5. K. Webb (AUS): Even (59)
T5. A. Miyazoto (JPN): Even (56)
T5. M. Miyazoto (JPN): Even (56)
Seo shot a 68 in the morning round, and she's four under so far in the afternoon, so she is seven under for the day, which is just unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteKerr makes her third difficult par putt in a row on the fifth hole to stay alive.
ReplyDeleteAngela Stanford holes a really long birdie putt on five to move to three-under par, only one shot behind Seo.
ReplyDeleteBut Seo hits her approach shot on nine to about five feet! She will have a great chance to move to five under.
ReplyDeleteAngela Stanford is 33 years old. She grew up in Fort Worth and is a graduate of TCU. In 2003, she was part of a three-woman playoff in the U.S. Women's Open, but she lost to Hillary Lunke. Stanford has won four LPGA events, but has never won a major.
ReplyDeleteStacy Lewis, who was five-under par for awhile during the second round, is now six over.
ReplyDeleteKerr, who has been putting well, bangs in a birdie on 7 to move to 2 under.
ReplyDeleteBut Seo rolls in her birdie putt on 9 to move to 5 under. After shooting a 68 this morning, she has gone out in only 31 shots.
