Cycling Update: Tyler Farrar Wins at Tour de France

Tyler Farrar won the stage three sprint finish at the Tour de France and has now won a sprint finish in each of the three grand tours.

The United States has a pretty short cycling history, and Farrar is now easily the best sprinter the country has produced.

I have to admit I had written off Farrar after the death of his best friend Wouter Weylandt at the Giro d'Italia.  Farrar took a bit of time off and hasn't done much since coming back to racing, so it was good that he was able to grab this stage.  If you can't tell in the photo he's making a W for his friend.

  1. Good to see the cycling coverage back.

  2. I'm kind of mad at the world of cycling right now, so I'm not giving it as much attention. Last year's winner of the Tour is still facing charges of doping from last year's Tour and it takes away from the fun to think that he could win it again this year and then have two stripped away. The pace at which the cycling justice system works is a joke.

  3. Yeah, that would stink.

    Good for Tyler Farrar, though.
