In 1993 the Wu-Tang Clan splashed onto the rap scene. One of the rappers who spun out of Wu-Tang was GZA. His big hit came in 1995 with Liquid Swords, his post Wu-Tang debut. It currently sits at number 83 on the Best of the 90's list.
Following in the Wu-Tang vision the album has a subdued, dark sound and it's full of martial arts references. I have to say I'm not the biggest fan of the Wu-Tang Clan and all of their spinoffs, but this is the best of these albums I've heard.
If you want to get a feel for the Wu-Tang sound then I would recommend this as a good example of their solo projects.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.

Full of martial-arts references ... don't hear that one often in a record review.
