Best of the 90's: Aquemini by Outkast

Aquemini [Explicit]I have a hard time with Outkast.  Musically their stuff is very interesting and entertaining.  Lyrically, not so much.  Aquemini plays this out perfectly for me.  I love the sound of this album, but all the little skits and the presentation of the vocals brings the album down to a level that makes it silly almost.

Maybe the best way to put it is that the music to me feels genuine and real.  The vocals and lyrics feel like an act, they feel phoney.  The two just don't seem to match up.

Hearing the song "Liberation" on here makes me realize that what I'd really like is for Outkast to produce an album for Cee-Lo Green.

Currently this album sits at number 77 on the Best of the 90's list.

This album has a moody feel to it and so it would be a good fit for a summer night in the city.

Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
