This album is a bit more textured than their past stuff, but it feels more influenced by Tunnel of Love than The Joshua Tree. There is a move away from the guitar and toward keyboards, and more work to create a sound and mood for their songs than in previous work.
All in all it's a solid album and I could see listening to this throughout the summer as a soundtrack.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
Hearing this Death Cab for Cutie song is a lot like getting to see Dave Winfield in the 1976 (or whatever) All-Star Game ... always heard about how great he was, had never seen him play.
