  1. What were the best things about the Heath High School experience?

I pretty much always felt motivated to get up and get to school, to see my friends and to do my best.

I felt like I was encouraged to read books, to think about them and to write about them.

I felt like the algebra and geometry classes were excellent.

I felt very much part of a community, and I felt encouraged to participate in the happenings of the greater Paducah/McCracken County community.

    I felt safe.

I pretty much always enjoyed the lunches.

I had a lot of fun going to games and participating in other activities.

  2. I feel like Heath High School took learning for its own sake seriously in a way that almost no one in the DC area does. At Heath, you could always find people who believed that reading and knowledge were good things in and of themselves, regardless of what they meant for your career. I don't find that up here at all.

  5. I would agree with you, GoHeath. In fact, I just don't remember any too much talk about careers at all. "Career Day" seemed like some box that had to be checked.

Now that I think about your point, I would say that Mrs. Bittner, the art teacher, was especially good about this ... also Mrs. Long, the history teacher.
