Nine regional tournaments were decided yesterday -- including the one in Nashville, where Vandy polished off Belmont 6-1 to wrap up that regional. The Dores will be hosting Oregon State in the Super-Regionals. The Tallahassee and Columbia regionals were suspended due to bad weather, and they will be finished later today. And that leaves five regionals that are set for a one-game decider tomorrow, including Ft. Worth -- where the three and four seeds are battling for the crown.

Congratulations to Vanderbilt, but I am sorry for Belmont. I played in a golf scramble Saturday with an alum who wore a fresh, crisp Belmont cap all afternoon.
ReplyDeleteMississippi State should send an official letter of thanks to Austin Peay State.
Boo for TCU! What the heck is Dallas Baptist?
I'm a Vandy / Lipscomb guy, so I don't have much love for Belmont.
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of Dallas Baptist either.
By the way, Eric, my suggestion for the Heath Post Style Book is that when you identify an American city, you should also give the state as well -- unless the city had an NFL Franchise in 1975.
ReplyDeleteExcept for Green Bay. You'd still have to write that as "Green Bay, WI."
ReplyDeleteI'm willing to support your style legislation, as long as we go with the old-style postal abbreviations (e.g., "Ky." instead of "KY").
ReplyDeleteCorrected in accord with your suggestion.
