You can't really overstate how influential and important this album has been. This doesn't mean it's a good album, just a very important album and so it sits at number 52 currently on the Best of the 80's list. I have a dislike for this album because of what is spawned, but with Dr. Dre and Ice Cube, N.W.A. had a powerful combination and found a sound and a voice that made everyone listen.
This was the birth of gangster rap and would kick start both Dre and Cube's career. Personally I would say avoid this album, but if you want to know where gangster rap came from give it a listen.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 0 out of 5 stars for Don't Like.
Dr. Dre was born in 1965; Ice Cube, in 1969.
