So I'm sitting here in my office, where I have closed the shades to block out the sunlight. And I got to thinking about the Nats. They were supposed to play Pittsburgh at 1 PM today over at Nats Park. I remembered thinking about it at lunch, because when we left the office we took our umbrellas in case it rained -- but it didn't rain, and I thought it would be a fun day to be at the ballpark.
Anyway, I decide to check the score, only to learn that the Nats cancelled the game at 9:41 A.M. due to concerns about thunderstorms. But the thunderstorms, you know, didn't actually occur.
So the Nats were rained out on a day that it didn't actually rain.
There's only one word for this experience:
NATSTOWN!
I have never heard of a baseball game being canceled in advance of weather.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever heard of players taking the field in uniforms where the team name was misspelled?
