Best of the 90's: Crash by Dave Matthews Band

CrashSitting at number 100 on the Best of the 90's list is this breakthrough 1996 release from Dave Matthews.

I've never been much of a Dave Matthews Band fan and listening to this album multiple times hasn't changed those feelings. I do like the song "Crash Into Me" as a nice pop tune, but for me the rest of Dave Matthews stuff is rambling and cluttered and uninteresting.

I cannot think of anytime I would ever listen to this album.

Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 1 out of 5 stars for Just OK.

  1. I agree with this review. I find the stripped-down acoustic versions of his songs to be much better than the full band versions.

  2. My wife loves all of the full-band stuff--loves all the layers, tempo changes, etc. In fact, I've yet to meet a former Madisonville Marching Maroon who is not over the moon for the full-band DMB stuff.
