Best of the 80's: Sandinista! by The Clash

Sandinista!Released in 1980 this was the triple album follow up to London Calling.  A purely experimental album it is almost unlistenable.

This album usually gets sited as an important album, I know for instance it was in the Rolling Stone top 500 albums of all time, but it is not the kind of album you or I ever need listen to.  If you want to hear the outcome of this work go forward in time and get some Big Audio Dynamite. Currently this album sits at number 74 on the Best of the 80's list.

There are songs here and there, but at 36 full length tracks this is an album to avoid.

Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 0 out of 5 stars for Don't Like.

  1. Very odd. I found this song to be a great deal more listenable than I was expecting--more than most Clash songs, in fact. It sounded like Steely Dynamite, before the band split up and formed Steely Dan and Big Audio Dynamite. I actually wish it had sounded more like The Clash, as the fake band could've been called "Clashy Dan," which is pretty funny.
