Oh, Kentucky

The Millers of Maysville are headed to Houston--and planning to stay until Tuesday, entertainingly writes Marla Toncray in The Ledger Independent.

Hardin County's most ardent Bobby Cochran fans, however, face a tough choice: "Born to Be Wild" or Cats.

Opening day.

Congrats to the Henderson County Cols, but you've got to love Trigg County's upside.

Good jobs news from Lebanon, Lexington, Louisville, Morgantown, Somerset and, apparently, Bowling Green. The county that jumps out at me in the most recent unemployment numbers is Webster, which sits between Hopkins and Henderson and is the westernmost of the counties in the low-rates summary.

Middlesboro remembers "Ragtime's father" (and "a slick-haired Kentuckian").

A Minneapolis-based franchiser that purchased 58 Dairy Queens around Kentucky is introducing chocolate ice cream at the restaurants, but "(l)oyal DQ Customers needn’t fret about menu changes" otherwise, Lorie Settles assures in The Middlesboro Daily News.
