I had never heard of these guys and was reading about them while I listened to the album. They are best known for being the first guys to incorporate ska with punk, something that became quite popular in the 90's. As I listened to the album I was thinking, well these guys do sound quite unique for an early 80's band, then I realized this album came out in 1989 and, well to be honest after realizing that I'm not sure I get why they come in at number 80 on the Best of the 80's list.
Sure they incorporated ska with punk, but so much of their album sounds like a rip off of so many other punk bands from the 80's like Suicidal Tendencies I'm not sure their impact was all that, and certainly this album doesn't make it onto the list for its content, it's on here because of its influence.
If you like punk and you don't know these guys it's worth a listen.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 1 out of 5 stars for Just OK.
