One problem I think the Stones have is that when they are on target with their music you very easily miss just how good they are. To me Sticky Fingers is the best example of this. This is a bluesy, dirty album with country influences to round things out. They pull off this blend of sounds brilliantly track after track.
Like most Rolling Stones albums the atmosphere they create is a bit rough and so you have to be in the right mood to throw this one on. In fact at the age I am now I never want to be in those moods and so I tend to avoid the Stones these days.
This 1971 release comes in at number 22 currently on the Best of the 70's list.
If you want to get down in the gutter for whatever reason, then throw this on and you're there.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 4 out of 5 stars for Really Good.
Four-star record, R-rated song.
