This is easily the best Foo Fighters album. There isn't a bad track on here and the energy level is consistent from track 1 to track 11. Consistency has always been the biggest problem I've had with Foo Fighter albums and this one is a fun listen from start to finish.
There is though a major problem with this album. On every Foo Fighters album there is at least one song that makes my top 5 songs of the year. This album does not have such a song. Yes it has a solid set of 11 songs, but there is no song on here that really stands out and that's a bit disappointing.
Still if you like rock and roll then you should grab this album. It's easy at times to think of rock as being dead, but Dave Grohl seems determined to keep it alive and he succeeds on this album.
Like I said this is a solid rock album so it's a good listen for rock oriented stuff. Let's say for instance you just had a big fight with your girlfriend and you're heading off to work to a job you don't like. What else is rock for but enhancing all the emotions that kick up in a situation like that.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 3 out of 5 stars for Pretty Good.
Dave Grohl is Tom Hanks.
