This sister gospel duet opens their sixth studio album with the title track and best track and quite frankly can't live up to it the rest of the way through. What makes "Something Big" work so well is that it has a solid R&B rhythm, and the focus of the song is on their singing and the lyrics. If you're doing gospel it's really all about the message and this song delivers on every level.
That combination is never achieved again. Either they are trying so hard to create a modern pop, R&B sound that they and their message get lost, or that energy that is so prevalent in the opener is lost.
Still the opener is a very good song and just for that the album isn't bad.
A good listen while making Sunday dinner.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
This is a great song.
