I have a special place in my heart for J Mascis because of his work in Dinosaur Jr. and so I enjoyed listening to this album just to hear him sing. He has an interesting delivery and is very good at writing odd hooks. All in all this album isn't bad, but there isn't anything here that will be bringing me back. It's nice to hear Mascis doing something like this in part because he has such a unique voice. Not just as a singer, but in how he presents his music.
I could see playing this on a dreary day as background music while you read.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
