Anything Danger Mouse does nowadays warrants attention and last year he and James Mercer, front man of The Shins, put out an album as Broken Bells to much interest. Personally I didn't think it worked very well, it was as if we got the worst of both artists, but now they've quickly turned around and released this EP and I have to say it's much more interesting.
It's dreamy, noise pop at its best in many ways and works quite well. Four songs are enough to give you a sense of what they can do and the direction they are moving in, if they choose to continue working together. Danger Mouse it seems to me can't sit still on a project too long so it will be interesting to see if they flush out a full album or if this is all we get from them.
Good noise pop is always fun to take a shower to and get your day started on.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 3 out of 5 stars forPretty Good.
The first CD I ever listened to was a John Cougar Mellencamp album that I played while I taking a shower. I was astonished at how rich it sounded.
