Most of the rest of the state stands down today, but my guess is that The Courier-Journal's Jason Frakes is looking at eight or so hours of regional girls' hoops starting at 2:30 p.m. Central today at Bellarmine University's Knights Hall. The Seventh Region goes first, with J-town and Mercy and then Manual and Ballard, and then the Sixth Region takes the court for two evening games.
Today's games:
Sixth Region, at Bellarmine University--Butler vs. Holy Cross and Central vs. Bullitt East
Seventh Region, at Bellarmine University--Jeffersontown vs. Mercy and DuPont Manual vs. Ballard
16th Region--Boyd County vs. Rowan County and Ashland Paul Blazer vs. Fleming County
First Region, at Murray State University
Second Region, at Livingston Central High School
Third Region, at Owensboro Sportscenter
Fourth Region, at Western Kentucky University
Fifth Region, at Marion County High School
Eighth Region, at Gallatin County High School
Ninth Region, at Northern Kentucky University
10th Region, at Bourbon County High School
11th Region, at Eastern Kentucky University
12th Region, at Pulaski County High School
13th Region, at Corbin
14th Region, at Jenkins
15th Region, at Pikeville
In fact, Jason Frakes is reporting that he will be giving updates from all four girls' games in Louisville.
