One and done: Girls' round of 32

Get your shoe polish early today, because window decorating begins tonight as 15 communities around the commonwealth (Florence and Newport have to wait until tomorrow) learn their local girls' basketball teams are headed to the KHSAA state tournament.

Sixth Region, at Bellarmine University--Louisville Butler vs. Bullitt East

Seventh Region, at Bellarmine University--Louisville Mercy vs. Louisville DuPont Manual

Eighth Region, at Gallatin County High School--Walton-Verona vs. Anderson County

10th Region, at Bourbon County High School--Winchester George Rogers Clark at Montgomery County

  1. Murray must be the capital of girls' hoops in Kentucky today, don't you think? Calloway County and Murray play at Murray State for the First Region championship, and Murray got to the game by coming from 15 behind to nip Ballard Memorial.

  3. THIS JUST IN! Montgomery County has beaten Winchester George Rogers Clark, 58-51, for the 10th Region championship at Bourbon County High School in Paris. The Lady Indians are headed to the Sweet Sixteen. It's a happy day in Mount Sterling!

  4. From the Eighth Region final in Warsaw, The Anderson News' John Herndon, calling the game for iHigh.com, says the Anderson County Lady Bearcats lead the Walton-Verona Lady Bearcats by three through three quarters.

  14. The Daily News of Bowling Green, which earlier Tweeted that Monroe County fans outnumber those of the Lady Purples' in Western Kentucky University's E.A. Diddle Arena, just Tweeted that the Lady Falcons lead BG, 38-32, through three quarters in the Fourth final. The Tompkinsville faithful is eight minutes from earning a return trip west to WKU for the Sweet Sixteen.
