Best of the 70's: Raw Power by The Stooges

Raw PowerIn many ways this, 1973 release sitting at number 52 on the Best of the 70's list, is the first Iggy Pop record.  The original Stooges were defunct and a new team was brought in for this their third album.  Also David Bowie was getting involved at this point, so there is a dramatic change from the early Stooges work here.

If you want pure Stooges at their best get their second album Funhouse, I'm pretty sure we'll see it later in the countdown, but many consider this to be their best album as it brought lyrics and Iggy to the front.  I say go with Funhouse personally.

If you want to rock out it's hard to beat The Stooges and so you can throw this on and let your hair down.

Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
