Best of the 70's: Ramones by Ramones

In 1976 the Ramones hit the scene and the world has never been the same.  Their debut is 14 songs strong of fast, simple, funny pop tunes.  It comes in at number 32 on the Best of the 70's list.

To me Rocket to Russia is a better album, and I'm not sure anyone would really disagree with that, but this album was the first and had a huge impact on the music that followed. 

The key thing to remember about the Ramones is that they were very good at constructing these short and simple pop tunes.  It's easy I think to dismiss the Ramones, but these guys were solid songwriters and musicians.  It's always amazing to me how they can make every song sound the same and yet different at the same time. 

Always good for a road trip to beach.

Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 3 out of 5 stars for Pretty Good.
