It's hard for me to fathom how this album comes in at number 62 on the Best of the 70's list ahead of an album like Off the Wall.
Meddle is essentially a transitional album for Pink Floyd moving from their old sound toward their next album and master work Dark Side of the Moon. In that sense it is an interesting listen, but about 10 minutes into the 23 minute closing song "Echoes" you really have to ask yourself whether anyone has ever sat through and enjoyed that entire song.
If you love Pink Floyd and you don't know this album then you should give it a listen.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 1 out of 5 stars for Just OK.
Not long into the summer of 1985, the 16 Western Kentucky University "Junior Scholar" boys from high schools across Kentucky got together on the seventh floor of Keen Hall and each put in a couple of dollars or three to order some pizzas and rent a VCR and two movies. The two movies we rented were Animal House and Pink Floyd The Wall.
