Brian Eno is perhaps the most influential figure in pop music since the Beatles. His importance does not lie on vinyl, however, but in the studio as producer. He produced David Bowie, Talking Heads, U2, etc. This 1975 release in some ways is like putting Les Paul on a list. It's what Eno was able to do with the recording studio that made this album so important in 1975 and established him as a production genius.
Sitting at number 62 on the Best of the 70's list seems a bit high to me, with 1 being the highest, but I understand the reasoning.
It is good background music for a mellow occasion, so maybe a serious game of chess.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
I miss playing chess. I was never very good. I'll have to teach my daughter to play.
