This is a pretty good album. It's a straightforward power pop album that borrows pretty heavily from the 80s bands that were borrowing heavily from Big Star and Gang of Four. For the most part I think this album works at being what it is and it's a very easy listen.There are a few songs that don't quite work, mostly because he tries to slow it down, but nothing that makes you hit the skip button.
If you want to throw on a solid power pop album then give this a try. It would be fun to listen to as you drive to play some golf.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 3 out of 5 stars for Pretty Good.
